💡 The tasks include all relevant work steps in the form of a checklist. By checking off the checklist items, the work progress is documented and made visible through color-coded task pins.

📌 CENDAS Plan Preparation
In plan preparation, you can prepare the plans for work on the construction site, including by creating tasks on them. You can access it by hovering the mouse over a plan tile and clicking the wrench icon.
According to the 🔷Rights Management, both the role of project manager and technical system planner have access to plan preparation.
➡️ Explanation of the View
Display of Identified Components
Identified components are shown to you both visually on the plan, in the form of diamonds, and in the left menu bar under “Components.” The listing in the menu bar is grouped by layers and component groups.
Components without an assigned checklist are represented on the plan by an orange diamond.
Display of Checklists for Tasks.
On the right side is the checklist sidebar, which contains all checklists available within the project.
➡️ Missing Components and Re-hiding
❓Not all components are displayed on the plan, even though they were planned as blocks
📣Note:
Incomplete plans in practice lead to missing components where, for example, certain attributes are missing. These are ignored by the plan analysis in the first pass but can be searched for afterward.
- You can trigger a deeper analysis of the plan via the
Missing Componentsbutton at the bottom of the components sidebar if not all required symbols are present as components.- It may happen that many components are displayed that you do not need. You can simply ignore these or hide them by assigning the “not relevant” checklist. How to do this is explained in the next section.
After clicking Missing Components, the button changes to Re-hide Components. You can use this to hide again the components added as a result of the deeper analysis. If you need them again later, you can show them again via Missing Components.
📣Note:
Note: If you have created a task for one of these components beforehand, it remains after you have re-hidden the remaining components.
➡️ Creating Multiple Tasks at Once
➡️ Assigning Checklists
To assign a checklist to components on the plan, select the components in the left components sidebar or directly on the plan by clicking. Then search for a suitable checklist in the right menu column and assign it by clicking on the selected component group.
The search for the correct checklist is facilitated by the search bar at the top of the checklist sidebar. If you are unsure whether a checklist is suitable for your project, you can view it by clicking the display button 📑.
You can create a new checklist using the + next to the search bar at the top of the right sidebar.
❗Important:
An edited or created checklist is only available within the respective project. To create or edit a checklist that is available for all projects, follow this guide: 🔷Publishing Checklists
If components on the plan are not relevant to you and you want to hide them, assign them the checklist “not relevant” at the top of the checklist sidebar. The components then disappear from the plan but are still listed with a gray symbol in the components sidebar in case you need them later.
Alternatively, you can visually tidy up the plan by selecting the components that are not relevant to you and choosing the “hide” toggle in the menu bar at the bottom.
💡Tip:
The CENDAS software learns from each plan preparation: based on already assigned checklists, checklists for already known components are suggested to you for the next plans. Since this automated checklist assignment is only triggered when a plan is opened for the first time, it is recommended to open the plans one after another to benefit from the learning effect.
| Components with an assigned checklist are represented on the plan by a green diamond with the checklist abbreviation. | |
Components assigned the “not relevant” checklist are represented on the plan by a gray diamond if they were previously selected in the components sidebar.
➡️ Creating Tasks
To create tasks for components with an assigned checklist, select the components in the left components sidebar or directly on the plan by clicking and press Create Task at the bottom right corner of the plan view.
The created tasks are now displayed to the rest of the project team in the plan view and can be checked off there.
📣Note:
If you do not want to create a task for every subcomponent (e.g., light strips or pipelines), individual components of a group can be deselected by clicking on the plan. Alternatively, do not select the components as a complete group via the components sidebar but individually by clicking on the plan.
Components for which a task has been created are represented on the plan by dark blue pins with the checklist abbreviation.
➡️ Different Checklists Within a Component Group
In case you want to assign different checklists to individual components within a component group, proceed as follows:
- Select one part of the components individually on the plan, assign them Checklist A, and create tasks for them directly.
- Then select the other part of the components individually on the plan, assign them Checklist B, and also create tasks for them directly.
In the plan view, the respective tasks for the individual components are now displayed correctly. This can also be done with more than two different checklists.
📣Note:
Note: In plan preparation, after step 2, the tasks from step 1 are shown as needing to be updated (light blue pin with arrows pointing in opposite directions). You can ignore this.
➡️ Updating Tasks
To assign a different checklist to tasks, select the task in the left components sidebar or directly on the plan by clicking and assign the new checklist. Then press Update Task at the bottom right corner of the plan view.
❗Important:
When you complete this action, the old tasks will be overwritten, causing any already recorded progress as well as included comments, images, etc., to be permanently deleted and cannot be restored.
Tasks whose checklist has been changed are represented on the plan by a blue pin with two arrows pointing in opposite directions.
➡️ Deleting a Task
To delete tasks, select the corresponding task either as an entire group in the left components sidebar or by clicking on the plan, then press Delete Tasks at the bottom right corner of the plan view.
❗Important:
When you complete this action, the task including any recorded progress as well as contained comments, images, etc., will be permanently deleted and cannot be restored.
