In this article, we show you how the measurement feature works.
Table of Contents
The measurement is divided into the following sections
We explain these and their functions below.
Overview
The overview gives you a targeted and quick summary of all bills of quantities uploaded in this project.
In the overview, you can select the desired bill of quantities you want to work in or simply delete those you do not need.
Upload BOQ
To upload an external bill of quantities, you can use the following file formats:
- GEAB file
- Pay attention to the extensions (86, 83, etc.) depending on which information you want to import into CENDAS
💡Note:
The BOQ positions cannot be edited in CENDAS and must be used as imported!
Bills of Quantities
To work in a desired bill of quantities, you can
- either click the "Bills of Quantities" tab and then select the desired bill of quantities
or - simply click a bill of quantities directly in the "Overview" tab

- editing means in this case that you can revise all stored information if you notice errors or need to make other changes
- you also have an overview of the metadata of the recorded services here (who created them when and who last modified them when)
- if the recorded service is assigned to an BOQ position, you can also view all relevant details of the BOQ position in the "Details" tab -
Multi-editing
- here you can perform various actions for one or more selected recorded services
- these include
> Deselect all
> Assign to BOQ with AI
> Export
> Delete
Assign to BOQ with AI
This feature allows you to easily assign recorded services that were manually created without a position from an uploaded bill of quantities.
- select the recorded service to be assigned
- select the function "Assign to BOQ with AI"
- the AI starts working and searches for matching positions
- then you will see the following field where the suggestions are displayed
- If the suggested position is not quite correct, you can simply expand the field and manually change the matching position
Here you also see the percentage match of the positions (based on name, unit, etc.) - Now make sure the "Apply" switch is active and confirm with "Assign"
Export
To invoice your recorded services, you need the right export. We have 3 possible options for you.
- Export as CSV
- a standard CSV file is created to upload it into compatible programs - Export as Excel file
- an Excel file is created (tabular listing) - Export as measurement sheet
- an Excel file is created (as a finished measurement sheet, ready to send)
Manual Entry of Services
You can also manually record your services without an uploaded bill of quantities. Simply go directly to the "Recorded Services" tab and select "Add Position".
Here you can now
- enter a title
- assign areas from plans as well as enter sections
- enter quantity and unit
- mark whether it is a record relevant for additional claims
💡Note:
If a recorded service is not assigned to an BOQ position, no details will be shown in the "Details" tab, as these refer to the information from the GAEB file!
