Flexible Tasks in CENDAS
What are Flexible Tasks?
Until now, you could not change the structure of a task – but now this is possible!
With the help of various "building blocks" (sections and fields), you can now design the different task types according to your preferences.
There is an individually structured template for each task type.
We differentiate between fire protection, defect, installation, revision, and special tasks.
📣Note:
If you change a template, all tasks belonging to that type will immediately change in all projects!
The Preparation
The Building Kit:
Global Templates > Tasks > Select Task Template > Edit Task Template
You design the structure of your task via drag & drop.
Preview:
The left column contains your possible options for sections and fields.
In the middle column is the editor. There you see the options you have added. You can also view how the task will look later via the preview at the top right.
In the right column you receive further information about the options. You can also edit some fields and sections there (excluding the preconfigured ones).
Sections:
Each task is built in sections. You can decide whether these sections are collapsible or non-collapsible, meaning they remain permanently "expanded."
These serve as subdivisions within the task.
You can freely name each section.
Example:

💡Tip:
You can also insert additional non-collapsible sections within a section.
Fields:
You insert selectable fields into these sections.
There are preconfigured fields, but you can also create your own fields via "create new."
Within a section, you can insert a maximum of two fields side-by-side and any number vertically below each other.
Field Types:
Standard Fields:
📣Note:
The "Progress" field is a mandatory field! The checklist will be stored there. Without this field, you cannot save or use your task template.
Custom Fields:
1. Dropdown
A dropdown menu gives you the option to choose from different contents.
You determine the contents.
2. Date Picker
This field contains a monthly calendar. You can use it to add additional dates besides the due date to your tasks.
3. Radio Button
Add the "Radio Button" field to choose between two or more options. You can also name and customize these individually.
4. Project User
Here you can add another project user. All users added to the respective project are suggested to you via dropdown.
5. Checkbox
Create a checkbox where you can name individual check options and add further check points.
6. Free Text Fields
You can rename the fields and then fill them individually with content you want to add to your tasks.
Deleting and Editing Fields:
When you hover over one of the fields in the middle column, three icons appear as shown above.
The Pencil: With this, you can edit the label of the respective field in the right column. You cannot edit the title and content of fields in the "Standard Fields" area.
The Trash Can: Used to delete a field from the middle column, and it will reappear in the left column.
📣Note:
Fields disappear from existing current tasks when deleted. However, the data entered there is still present if you add the field back to your tasks.
❗Important:
If you delete your fields in the left column by clicking the trash can, you delete the entire field including stored content from the database, and you will no longer have access to this field.
The Dots: You can move the field within the middle column by dragging the six dots.
